I hope all of you had a great Easter holiday with family and friends!
I had my race this past Saturday and am glad it is finally over. My brother, his girlfriend and my sister and I did a beginner triathlon (200 M swim, 5 mile bike, 1.5 mile run). It was actually a lot of fun, despite how hard it was. (I am number #826). This picture was just taken just after crossing the finish line.
I had to learn how to swim (a stroke other than a “dog paddle”) and ride a road bike, but we really enjoyed it. Might have to do another one at the end of the summer. Anyways, just thought I would let you know what has been keeping me so busy lately.
On another note…we have a winner for the MikaRose giveaway! Commentor #220,

Great job! my mom did her first triathlon two years ago and she's been a cycle-a-holic ever since. She's no fan of open water, where most of our local triathlons are, so she just sticks to road bike races. We're making shirts this week for her grandkids that say "my grandma rides faster than your grandma!" for the Tour de Phoenix on Saturday!
Anyway, congrats and that is a huge accomplishment!
Way to go…I know how tough that is! You are amazing! Come say hi :D
That's awesome!! I have conquered the running and cycling part. I need to work on the swimming. Not looking forward to that part… Great job on finishing !!! I always look forward to your posts!
Thanks,
Aimee
That is so awesome! I did my first half marathon this year and might do a tri later… if I can find a bike! That is so awesome that you did it! Great job!
congratulations on your first triathlon. i'm doing my first one may 15th in GA. sooooo nervous!
I did a sprint tri like that a few years ago… it was hard, but probably the most physically intense thing I've ever done (I'm non-athletic) – great job!
AWESOME! I'm glad you had a good experience because it is addicting! I am now training for my 4th triathlon (and maybe a few more before and after race day) in 2 years
Way to go! I did a beginniner a few years ago in St. George and it was awesome! Also, I was at the Costco in South Ogden over the weekend and they have MikaRose clothing! I got a dress for 30 bucks! Just wanted to let you know!
Yay, Amy, I was hoping you would post! My first triathlon I did half of the swim doggie paddle… The other half was side stroke (if that's even a stroke). It was in a lake, and I just had to keep going:) So fun to do it with others, too. Glad you enjoyed it!
A feat to be proud of! I'm envious!
Congratulations! I like to run races but I've never attempted a triathlon! I think the swimming would be the hard part for me! Good for you!
Awesome! We almost volunteered to help with that race. Wish we would have because maybe we would have meet. Great job! I even comtemplated on doing it but the swimming part just freaks me out. Way to go!
Congratulations on finishing! I've only done 5K's–never a triathlon. I'm in awe of anyone that does those!
Way to go! I've signed up for my first Tri in May……so nervous!
congrats! you look fantastic post race. totally inspiring you were able to fit in training with all else you do. i run but triathlons scare me! i'm amazed!
