Alright people…I am getting so forgetful. Thanks for the reminder about picking a winner of the CanOrganizer.com giveaway! I know most of you have probably been waiting around for me to post the winner. Sorry about that. We started Spring soccer here and it has me doing a lot of extra running around. I’ll blame it on that! Anyways…without any further delay, random.org chose commenter #155.
Congratulations Maren! Send me an email or leave a comment here and we will get you your new pantry organizers! Thanks so much everyone for playing along and entering. But I would especially like to thank CanOrganizer.com for the great giveaway. We really appreciate it. Head on over to CanOrganizer.com and get your pantry organized.

And a funny little side note…I get links that trackback to my blog from various sites where someone has mentioned my blog and linked to it. So sometimes it is fun to visit the site and see what was posted. I have seen many of my followers and their blogs and projects this way. It is always fun to see that you are real people out there that I am blabbing away too all of the time. Well today, I found something that was pretty funny and a bit sad at the same time. The link took me to a forum where someone asked what their favorite craft blogs were. Someone linked to my blog and said…
“This is a really good one. She’s like a Mormon Martha Stewart. Whenever you start to feel like a proper creative woman, she will knock you down a few pegs when you read her blog. “
LOL! I totally laughed out loud at the first statement and then the second statement made me feel kind of sad. Not sad as in my feelings were hurt (because they weren’t), but sad to think some of you might read this blog and feel badly about themself. I hope those of you who are reading my blog do not feel in any way “knocked down a few pegs”! I do think it was said as a joke but it got me thinking that I never EVER would want anyone to come away from my blog feeling like they don’t measure up. That would make me feel so bad! I write this with the intention of letting you know just how easy most of these crafts and ideas are to pull them off. That is why I DO ALL of the projects on this blog rather than just featuring them.
I was not in any way offended and actually thought it was really funny. But it did get me to thinking about how you are all feeling when you come to The Idea Room and especially when you LEAVE The Idea Room. I have said this before and I will say it again. I am just a regular old mom. I have the same challenges and household struggles that you do. I make a lot of mistakes and am just trying to do my best like all you other great women and moms out there. Right now my house is a little bit messy and I am feeling grumpy about having to make dinner in a couple of hours. But don’t we all feel that way…right…anyone?? LOL!
Anyways…hugs to all my awesome readers! Thanks for following along and for your kind comments and emails. They are ALWAYS welcome!

That’s precisely why I’ve never googled my site or screen name. I’d never want to read something like that. I’m glad you’re not letting the comment get to you. You’re such an inspiration, and I think the way you explain your projects is very accessible, and not at all condescending. Hopefully it was written tongue-in-cheek. Tone is so hard to get to come across on discussion forums. Keep doing what you’re doing, because I love checking out your projects.

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure it was coming across okay :)
Well, having met you IRL, I can vouch for you not being the kind of person to put anyone down a peg or two! I think she meant is as a compliment since you seem to have an incredible knack for coming up with amazingly simple ideas that look absolutely fantastic! Keep ’em coming. I for one need all the ideas I can get. :)
xoxo,
Amy
Thanks Amy! You are too kind.
I love your blog and wouldn’t read it if I felt bad afterward! Keep up the great work!
Just need to say that I always leave your blog feeling exhilerated! Whenever I see something that I like, I always feel like I can actually do the project because everything I have tried has worked out wonderfully! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Thanks Phaedra! I love to see all the projects you make. I love that you share them with me.
Yeah! Thanks! I sent you an email.
Congratulations Maren! I will send your email to CanOrganizers so they can get you your new pantry organizers! You are a lucky gal!
Just wanted to let you know that I love your blog. I leave your blog inspired by your creativity and hoping that some day I’ll be as crafty as you. :)
Thank you Nicki! I have found that the more I do, the faster the ideas come!
Amy, I think most of your readers love your blog and you are our daily inspiration. As for me, I don’t believe in re-encarnation, but if I did, I’d love to be like you in my next life ;-) I mean, you run your house, are a devoted mum to 5 and spouse and you find time to make such yummy treats and gorgeous crafts! Besides your blog is so cute and welcoming! I’ve never felt bad after reading it-in fact doing so is a good therapy to keep your spirits up. I’m sure that comment was just a joke so as to tell the bunch of nice ideas you have.
Thank you Alicia! I can always count on you for a really great comment :)! Thanks for reading and being a vocal follower!
Excellent write-up. I certainly love this website. Keep it
up!
