I cannot believe that school starts up again for my kids in a couple of weeks. Where did the summer go? Need a fun and easy back to school craft that is edible? Make these delicious apple oreo pops! You know I have an obsession with food on a stick right? Here is my newest version!
These are really easy and took me all of 20 minutes to make some up. All you need are a few simple ingredients.
-
Red Candy Melts (melted)
-
White chocolate chips (melted)
-
Double Stuff Oreo Cookies
-
black licorice (cut into little strips for the stems)
-
a few green fruit snacks
-
mini chocolate chips
-
sucker sticks
Take your sucker sticks and hammer one end so that it is flattened and will fit into the Oreo without breaking it. I covered it with a towel so it was between the hammer and the stick so the stick stayed clean. Stick the stick into each Oreo. Melt the red candy melts in the microwave in 10 second intervals. Dip the Oreos into the red candy melts. Be sure to cover the bottom of the Oreo well so that the stick stays in place.
Take your licorice stems and place them into the top of the Oreo. Cut the fruit snack and smash it so that it flattens out into a flat leaf shape. Then set the dipped Oreos onto some Parchment or Wax Paper and stick them into the freezer or fridge to speed up the cooling process.
Once they have cooled, take your white chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave. Take the white chocolate and smear a little bit onto the apple to create the inside fruit of the apple. Then add a couple of mini chocolate chips to be the apple seeds.
Pop back in the freezer!
Then share them with some of your favorite people!
Don’t they look happy? The apples that is? I think I will make some more for the 6-7 year olds that I teach on Sundays at Church. What a fun way to let them know I am thinking about them as they are getting ready to head back to school.
If you were to make some…who would you share them with?

Those are just too cute! My daughter is a teacher and just found out she’s being called back to work this fall after being laid off this past june (we didn’t think she would get called back at all since she’s a new teacher), I think I’m going to have to make some of these for her. :)
