I was recently contacted by Staples about possibly reviewing one of their laptops. Ummm….yes please! My husband and I had just been discussing the need for another computer or laptop in our home. I have one that I use for working here on The Idea Room, but we don’t have one that the kids have been able to use for school and their homework.
Up until this point, they have just borrowed mine when they needed to research something or type up a school report. Well, up until now that has worked out fine for us, but my oldest son is entering High School in a couple of weeks and we needed something that would be suitable for the kids.
My son has also been working for me and doing a lot of the backend work on my site which has freed up a lot of my time to be with the family more and to work on more projects. So another laptop has been really helpful.
We chose to review the Dell Inspiron i14RM-7500sLV 14" Touch Screen Laptop.
We found the Dell Inspiron really easy to set up and learn how to use. Windows 8 is new to us so that took a bit of time to figure out and get used to but we are really liking the updates.
One of our favorite things about this laptop is the amazing touch screen. You can use the screen as a touch screen which includes a touch keyboard, or you can use it as a traditional laptop with the regular keyboard. It is the best of both worlds.
The laptop is the perfect size with a 14 inch screen. It is very light weight weighing just over 4.5 lbs. This makes it very portable and will be the laptop I think I will end up traveling with. It is also nice to be able to use the laptop in several different areas of my home depending on what I am doing or what the kids are doing.
We took a trip to Bryce Canyon and had a four hour drive. The kids were able to watch a couple of movies on the laptop. I did notice that the screen resolution was really nice and you had a good viewing experience from viewing the screen at an angle just as you would looking straight at the screen.
All in all we are very happy with this new laptop and think it will be a great addition to our home. If you are interested in some more specifics you can find them here: Dell Inspiron i14RM-7500sLV 14" Touch Screen Laptop.

A touch screen sounds so great. I love the idea of having both options because somethings need typing and others a touch screen makes more sense!

Being a renowned company, there is nothing to say about the features of a Dell Laptop. I’ve been personally using a Dell Laptop for about 5 years and it’s been a great experience to work on it. Though it has added some more improvements to it, by overall features it is a nice laptop.

Rosie- Thank you for your comments and for following along.
I have typically been impressed with Dell and my Inspiron 5567 is OK, but the battery dropped half its capacity in only 3 months requiring a replacement. That actually went fine, no complaints about Dell support. It was quickly handled and properly repaired.
Thank you for your comments.
